Getting my young adult (YA) novel published has been a goal of mine since I wrote it back in 2005, but being an adult, my reading of literature in the genre has been limited to an occasional Harry Potter book. Several years ago I wrote a 50,000 word novel for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and it has sat on my computer's hard drive untouched. I always thought I would "one day" go back and clean it up, edit, and self-publish it on either LuLu or Amazon. Years went by.
