Take Away The Secret Meetings
Yes, the title is yet another line from “The Fantastiks: but somewhat appropriate…
I have an issue I want to present to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) that is very improtant, however their web site is NOT very helpful. I have been trying to find out when either the Chicago Branch or the National Meeting meets next, and there is nothing, NOTHING about meetings on the SAG web site. Even worse, there does not seem to be ANY information on the Chiago Branch schedule anwyehere on the net.
What is going on?
Perhaps that is why the national and regional elections have such a low voter turnout. How can you run a union when members are not advised as to when their membership meetings are held? What is the secrecy about? Whats worse, I often get notices of Chicago meetings days or even a WEEK after the meeting is actually held.
I call upon the SAG members who read this site to get involved. Make phone calls, get the meetings up on the web site. If we can’t even find out when the meetings are, how can we truly know what is going on in the guild.
Very frustrating.
